…you are more precious than a whole flock of sparrows…
About the Art
Stasia’s current work tells a story about a garden and how The Gardener takes care of His garden through her use of a variety of materials: gouache, colored pencil, and oil paint. The paintings celebrate that there is a continuation of life even during a season of drought. The garden is a reminder of how we grow, we all start as a seed and bloom into something beautiful, constantly changing throughout each season. A gardener plants seeds, cuts back dead leaves, and harvests His crops. More life is drawn to the garden as butterflies flutter around the plants, birds rest on fountains, bees produce honey and frogs hop on lily pads. He knows His garden so well, not a single plant is unnoticed or unrecognized. Just like a gardener knows His garden, our Creator knows everything about us and never forgets us. As creation started in The Garden, these paintings remind us of the beginning. They draw us back to how beautiful our world is and how precious, treasured, and purposeful we are, as a part of creation.

"Beautiful Sunflower"
I saw you bloom into the most beautiful flower.
At first all you were was just a seed.
No one knew what you would look like.
As I watered you, I saw a sprout grow.
My face lit up, I knew I had planted you in the right place.
You continued to grow.
Each day a new leaf would form.
You were growing so fast.
And one day, I heard there was a storm coming, everyone was talking about it.
I protected you.
When the storm came, you wilted.
So I created a support system to help you.
And I put you back into the sun and checked in on you everyday.
And as you leaned on your support and received My love & guidance, you stood up straight again.
Your stem thickened and more leaves bloomed.
Wherever the sun shined, you followed.
I watched you everyday, sometimes close up, sometimes through the kitchen window.
It didn’t matter if I was near or far, you continued to grow.
You formed your petals so secretly. I could barely see any color peek through.
You were rolled up in a ball for so long, I wondered when you would bloom.
And then another storm came. But I protected you, as I always do, this time knowing that you would survive.
When I checked in on you, I saw you were wilted again but you were still alive.
I picked you up again and tied you tighter to your support.
The next few days I gave you your space as you healed, but I still watched you through the window.
And one day I went outside and saw that you had bloomed into the most beautiful flower.
You were filled with brightness and huge petals, beaming with gold as the sun was shining on you.
You bloomed into a flower that surprised everyone, a flower that no one has ever seen before.
When I planted you, no one knew how beautiful you would be, but I did… I chose you.

"Precious Sparrow"
Looking at sparrows from a distance, they all look the same. What if you observed them for just a little longer? You would see that each bird moved a little different, each bird is a different color, and each bird has something unique about them. A whole flock of sparrows from a distance represents us, all the same. However, we are each uniquely set apart for greatness. Each one of us is designed so intentionally and beautifully. We cannot not compare ourselves to another human, they were not made the same way that we were. We are precious to God! We are made in His image, we are His masterpiece!
“What is the price of two sparrows—one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.”
Matthew 10:29- 31 NLT
“You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!”
Psalms 139:13-18 NLT

"Sweet Words"
Your words have power.
Don’t be so sour.
Think of honey,
that is more valuable than money.
Feed your soul and body,
so that you will be Godly.
Think before you speak,
or you will become weak,
with words that you have believed to be true,
when the only words that you need are from God’s point of view.
“Kind words are like honey— sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.”
Proverbs 16:24

"Secluded Spring"
The Lord keeps me hidden and secluded. He hides me so I can learn His wisdom. He places me by the water, listening to His stillness. I rest by His life-giving fountain, knowing that whatever comes out is truth, is wisdom, is life! Even in seclusion, in the middle of the forest where it is lonely, He provides beauty and comfort. I have escaped and conquered death because of Him. Because of Him I have eternal life!
“Fear of the Lords a life-giving fountain; it offers escape from the sores of death.”
Proverbs 14:27

"Open Door"
The door is open for you to come and sit. There’s a seat for you, planned and reserved with your name on it! You’ve been personally invited…how willl you respond?
yes or no
Look at the garden that you have been invited to with open arms. Look how peaceful and perfect.
So pull up a chair, and sit.
A ‘Yes’ is all you need.
““Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.”
Revelation 3:20

"The Vine"
'He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more. “I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. You have already been pruned and purified by the message I have given you. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me. “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned. But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father.'
John 15:1-8

"Good Fruit"
"They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit." -Jeremiah 17:8

"New Life"
The beautiful changes of a butterfly mirror the transformation that one has when they are touched by God. There is a new life, a new transformation that happens internally and externally. The old has been washed away, the new is here to stay.

"Wildflowers"
"And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?" -Matthew 6:30
